The DFRobot Gravity: MEMS Gas Sensor (MiCS-4514) is a compact and low-power multi-gas sensor module based on SGX Sensortech's MiCS-4514 sensor chip. It’s capable of detecting carbon monoxide (CO), alcohol, nitrogen dioxide (NO₂), and ammonia (NH₃) gases with good accuracy and fast response. Designed for air quality monitoring applications, this sensor is ideal for smart homes, environmental monitoring, and robotic sensing.
Utilizing MEMS (Microelectromechanical Systems) technology, the sensor features two independent sensing elements: one for oxidizing gases (e.g., NO₂) and one for reducing gases (e.g., CO, NH₃, alcohol). The module communicates via the I2C protocol, making it easy to interface with microcontrollers like Arduino, Raspberry Pi, or ESP32. It features onboard signal conditioning, making it ready-to-use and reliable for long-term integration.
